The Sales Account Manager is responsible for the development and execution of sales programs and initiatives throughout the United States. This position performs a wide range of sales functions including managing assigned sales opportunities, prospecting for new customers, following through on qualified leads, and closing orders for increased company growth.

Sales Account Manager Responsibilities:

  • Improve product related sales by becoming a technical resource for key accounts
  • Ability to resolve customer issues and come up with creative solutions
  • Identify and close new client opportunities and manage the process
  • Maintain your Sales Pipeline keeping up with open and expiring opportunities
  • Use your existing customer network to generate new business through referrals
  • Current and new business/market development
  • Ensure current customer enrichment and OEM/vendor relations
  • Help to meet and exceed sales quotas and goals, and advise management of future prospective market areas
  • Assist in analysis of sales statistics to help formulate future sales and marketing efforts
  • Complete accurate sales call reports, forecasts, sales plans and expense reports; assist in preparing periodic sales reports showing sales volume and potential sales
  • Assist the sales team members, inside sales (pre & post sales), engineering on project workflow task assignment and completion
  • Represent the company at trade shows/association meetings to promote product
  • Effective communication with the inside sales team to assist in quoting, processing sales orders and project management for our customers
  • Sales process: Supplier/vendor relationships long term relationship-based sales strategy nurture the customer and project
  • Protect customer confidentiality with project information and OEM and vendor discussions
  • Develop strong supplier/vendor relationships to obtain accurate information regarding availability, shipment, and delivery dates
  • All other duties as requested by supervisor or department head
  • Conduct all business activities in a safe and ethical manner
  • Travel to customer sites; travel will be mainly, but not limited, to customers in the United States of America, as well as to the parent company’s production facility in Germany
  • Safeguard the assets and information of MPA under the knowledge and control of this position. Ensure that all technical developments, data on company operations and customer data are treated as confidential information
  • Comply with all government laws, regulations, and MULTIPOND America Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to the responsibility of this position
  • Continuously strive to improve your job knowledge, business skills and capabilities
  • Set weekly, monthly, and annual milestones (goals) with immediate supervisor and communicate with your supervisor on a daily basis

Sales Account Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales or sales management experience in capital equipment sales and/or the food packaging or related industry
  • Proficient use of CRM software such as Salesforce preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and written communication skills
  • Strong technical knowledge is a must. Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Be able to recommend best equipment solution based on the customer’s needs. Ex. project cost/budget, availability, performance, or specifications
  • Ability to set and deliver on high performance standards and metrics
  • Ability to resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level

Working Environment

Primarily working in office environment with heavy computer use. Work schedule is generally between 8 am and 5 pm, with flexibility required to meet customer needs. Travel will be required 10% - 20% of the time throughout the U.S.
